GAC Opens a New Chapter in Pakistan, Strengthening Its Green Mobility Footprint in South Asia

On May 20, GAC joined hands with Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) to hold a brand and vehicle launch ceremony themed “Quietly Ahead” in Karachi, Pakistan. Wei Haigang, President of GAC International, Wang Shunsheng, Vice President of GAC International and President of Asia-Pacific Regional Center, Muhammad Ali Tabba, Chairman of LMC, Muhammad Faisal, CEO of LMC, and other senior executives from both sides attended the event.

The event officially marked GAC’s formal entry into the Pakistani market, with four flagship models unveiled and the“GAC Pakistan Action Plan” officially released. At the event, Mr. Wei delivered a speech, stating that GAC upholds the philosophy of long-term development and implements the localization strategy of “In Pakistan, For Pakistan”, making in-depth layout in products, sales channels, after-sales services and mobility ecosystem in an all-round way. He elaborated on GAC’s global development blueprint and cooperation layout with LMC. Leveraging the time-honored friendship between China and Pakistan, GAC will steadily advance the long-term development of the Pakistani market through multi-faceted collaborative efforts, technology localization and the introduction of premium mobility solutions. Also, he revealed that in the next five years, GAC will launch multiple new energy models for right-hand drive markets including Pakistan.

Muhammad Faisal introduced the company's development journey and future vision. He noted that the bilateral cooperation is founded on highly consistent foundations. Closely oriented toward innovation and growth, the partnership will effectively boost the progress of the local automotive industry.

Subsequently, Muhammad Ali Tabba expounded on the significance of the cooperation from a broader perspective. He noted that industrial progress, long-term investment and global partnerships are pivotal drivers of sustainable development, and highlighted the essential value of international cooperation in elevating local industrial capabilities and improving the mobility ecosystem.

At the launch event, Mr. Wang officially handed over the new car key to GAC’s first car owner in Pakistan, expressing gratitude for the customer's recognition and trust in the GAC brand, and demonstrating the brand's unwavering commitment of always cherishing every user.

Moreover, GAC established mature and comprehensive R&D and manufacturing capacity for right-hand drive vehicles. It features an extensive product lineup covering all categories of sedans, SUVs and MPVs. Marking its official entry into the Pakistani market, GAC introduces four models: HYPTEC HT, AION V, AION UT and AION ES—to meet the diverse mobility needs of local consumers.

On the brand front, to further penetrate the local market and reach local consumers, GAC has rolled out a nationwide outdoor campaign across major cities including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. Extensive billboard placements in key urban corridors and transport hubs are steadily building brand awareness and embedding the “Quietly Ahead” positioning in the local market.

Channel expansion is accelerating simultaneously. At present, GAC has built many brand showrooms in three major Pakistani cities: Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The day after the launch ceremony, Wei Haigang and Wang Shunsheng inspected the operational status, customer reception and after-sales preparation of the opened showrooms, and held in-depth exchanges with the local dealer team.

In terms of services, GAC adheres to the philosophy of ”Service First, Customer First”, it has fully rolled out the GSSW international service standard system, vehicle delivery and after-service follow-up. During the launch event, Wei Haigang and Wang Shunsheng, along with their team, visited LMC’s world-class KD plant, where they spoke highly of the overall manufacturing processes and quality standards. At the invitation of Muhammad Faisal, they jointly planted a commemorative tree at the plant, symbolizing the two sides’ close partnership to deepen their presence in the Pakistani market, radiate into the South Asian and global right-hand drive markets, and achieve long-term win-win outcomes.
